DM Automation – Step-by-Step Guide

Turn Instagram comments into automatic DMs to generate leads and sales.

Step 1: Create a New Automation

Click the Create New Automation button from the Automations page.

Step 2: Select Post or Reel

Choose where the automation should apply.

You’ll see three options:

Next Post

Applies to the next post you publish.

Any Post

Applies to all posts — past, present, and future.

Specific Post

Applies only to selected posts.

Understanding “Next Post” Logic

This option prepares automation before you publish.

You set it once, post later, and automation attaches automatically to that post.

It works only for that single post.

Best when you want stress-free posting or campaign-based content.

Understanding “Any Post” Logic

This option works immediately on all posts.

Any comment that matches your conditions triggers a DM, no matter when the post was published.

Best for evergreen lead generation.

Step 3: Set Comment Keywords

You can choose how comments trigger automation.

Defined Keywords

Automation runs only if comments contain specific words like “price” or “details”.

Any Keyword

Every comment triggers automation.

Step 4: Write the DM Response

Choose what message users receive in DM.

You can include text, buttons, and links.

Keep replies short and clear.

Example:

“Thanks for commenting! Here’s the link you requested.”

Step 5: Advanced Automation Options

Enhance your flow with:

• Opening Message
• Ask to Follow
• Email Collection

Step 6: Save & Publish

Review everything once. Click Save.

Your automation goes live instantly.
